Connemara Pony

The Connemara Pony is Ireland’s only native pony. He is elegant, intelligent and probably the best performance pony breed that is known and loved worldwide. This strong and sturdy Connemara Pony has a short back and sloped, muscular croup.

The Connemara Pony’s original breeding is lost in history, but it may owe much to Barb and Spanish horses and later the introduction of Welsh, Thoroughbred and Hackney blood. The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society was set-up in 1923.
